The afternoon, which was broadcast on Douglas FM, included raffles and other fund-raising activities with proceeds being donated to the Mossman State School.

Apart from some great fun, the day provided an excellent opportunity for people to discover the club and its fantastic undercover bowls green, maybe for the first time.

Some of the more experienced and more senior members of the community also took the opportunity to introduce the game to a number of youngsters who appeared to be having a great time.

Club Mossman’s marketing and advertising officer Melissa Di Pietro was pleased with the turn-out.

“It was pleasing to see a whole range of age groups come along for an afternoon of fun competition,” she said.

“Well done to everyone who came along, especially the winners of some great prizes from the bowls and raffles.”

As you can see, it’s all go in the Douglas Shire again, so for the time being it’s Gazza signing out.
