Vote for sports teacher
A WOREE State High School teacher has been shortlisted for the FUSE Cup’s most inspirational esports coach award.
David Mead is the only Far North nomination of 20 throughout Australia.
FUSE Cup is an international school-based esports competition and network that connects students and schools across the Asia-Pacific region.
“Behind every great school esports program is an incredible teacher who makes it happen,” a FUSE Cup spokesman said.
“They give their time. They champion our students. They create spaces where young people can belong, connect and build confidence,” he said.
A school post on Facebook said it was “a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of Mr Mead’s dedication to esports at Woree SHS”.
“He goes above and beyond to support our students, building their skills, confidence and creating incredible opportunities through esports,” it said. “Being shortlisted for the FUSE Cup award is a huge achievement, recognising David’s passion and commitment to esports across the Asia-Pacific region.”
