Tributes to Linda Pitt
THE mother of former Mulgrave MP Curtis Pitt has died in Tasmania.
Mr Pitt posted on Facebook that it “is with great sadness that I advise that our Mum Linda passed away earlier this evening (Monday)”.
“Many people would know that Mum has been not in good health for a while but had recently moved to Tasmania with (daughter) Dionne’s family,” he said.
“Mum was the sweetest, caring and most gentle person we knew.
“She made friends without trying and would always make people feel special.
“She was a school teacher, a highly accomplished sports person and a generous volunteer for so many organisations, including the Red Cross.
“With Dad’s (Warren) passing in February, Mum simply died of a broken heart. Just like they were always together in life, they can now be together forever more.”
Warren Pitt, 76, died in February after a battle with cancer. He was a former ALP Member for Mulgrave and state Labor cabinet minister for many years.
