Touch of paradise in suburb
A TOUCH of paradise has emerged at Aeroglen.

The second artwork in Cairns Regional Council’s 2025 neighbourhood murals project has been unveiled at Touch Park, Quarry St, Aeroglen.
Nominated by Cr Rob Pyne (Div. 5) and inspired by stories from local residents, the mural by artist Loretta Lizzio captures Aeroglen’s unique character – from lush tropical landscapes and mountain ranges to the native wildlife that call the area home.
The final mural of the 2025 murals project is also underway at Endeavour Park, Manunda.
The amenities block at the park was nominated by Cr Anna Middleton (Div. 7) to serve as a canvas for local artist Cam Scale.
His vibrant piece titled ‘Grass Roots’, zooms in on the grassroots spirit of community and sport. It depicts a child lacing up their boots, preparing for a free kick on one side and an attempted save on the other.
Inclusive, aspirational and proudly Australian in green and gold, this mural celebrates players of all ages and backgrounds.
The Aeroglen mural is delighting the community
“Thank you Loretta Lizzio and Cr Rob Pyne. Such a wonderful initiative,” said Cairns Touch Association on Facebook.
“We’re proud and happy to have been involved in bringing this stunning mural to life at our club.”
“Awesome result, well done,” said Nic Wright.
Fellow artist Hayley Gillespie said it was “beautiful”.
Rod Jennings said it looked “awesome”. “Such a great use of CRC assets to enhance the community. Kudos to all involved," he said.
