Too late, it’s a big trick
AUSTRALIA’S superstar magician, illusionist, escapologist and comedian Cosentino is back with his most ambitious live show yet.

‘Tricked, An Evening of Wonder’ promises to take audiences on a 90-minute journey where the laws of physics bend, minds are read and the impossible becomes reality.
The national tour, hitting Cairns’ CPAC Theatre on Wednesday 17 September, is set to showcase an entirely new level of magic, combining state-of-the-art technology with classic illusions.
“I wanted to make this show more immersive and interactive than anything I’ve done before,” Cosentino said.
“There’s a lot of audience participation, new stage illusions and death-defying escapes. Everything is completely original,” he said.
From mind-bending close-up magic using everyday objects like cards, coins and Rubik’s cubes, to heart-stopping escapes and grand illusions inspired by legends such as Houdini, Cosentino’s new production is designed to leave audiences spellbound. One standout act features the magician strapped to multiple wooden boards with a moving buzz saw above, a stunt rehearsed meticulously for months to ensure precision and safety.
But Cosentino is not just about spectacle. He stresses the universal appeal of magic.
“I’ve performed for royalty and street audiences across Asia,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter where someone comes from or their background, magic breaks down barriers and brings out a sense of childlike wonder.”
The magician also draws inspiration from his work in books, television and animation.
His series of scholastic books and TV specials, broadcast in over 40 countries to more than 750 million viewers, complements the live shows, creating a synergy that spans multiple media.
“Everything I do comes back to life on stage, from cartoons to television. It all ties together,” Cosentino said.
His career highlights are as dazzling as his performances.
He is a multi-Merlin Award winner, including ‘International Magician of the Year’ and ‘International Escape Artist of the Year,’ a former runner-up on Australia’s Got Talent and winner of Dancing With The Stars Australia.
His shows have played to packed theatres across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, with fans drawn to his combination of humour, heart and jaw-dropping magic.
With Tricked, An Evening of Wonder, audiences of all ages are invited to witness illusions never before attempted, heart-stopping escapes, and a theatrical experience unlike anything else on stage.
Prepare to be amazed, entertained and, above all, tricked.
