The Rondo launches new play
HOME of quality stage productions, The Rondo Theatre, proudly announced their latest play, The Wrong Mountain, by local playwright Cath Willacy, opening on Friday, July 1.

The Wrong Mountain is a light-hearted look at women who want to appear perfect to their family and friends. But at what cost to themselves – and others?
Beth is told off by her cleaner for climbing a ladder ‘at her age’. In defiance, she decides to climb Mount Everest, but later realises that she will have to actually do it if she doesn’t want to lose face in front of her nephew and friends.
Beth and her unconventional friends will have you in stitches at times, yet you will feel for them as they address real situations that are faced by women of many ages – and indeed anyone male or female - who has ever struggled with feeling ‘invisible’.
Will climbing the highest mountain in the world solve Beth’s issues? Or will dealing with hidden agendas, suppressed feelings and advancing years prove to be an even higher mountain?
This is the first full-length play by local playwright Cath Willacy, who brought to Cairns the pantomimes Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast and Aladdin.
Supported by a talented local cast, The Wrong Mountain offers a great night of entertainment, people are encouraged to book from now. Opening on Friday, July 1.
Tickets are on sale now at therondo.com.au or phone 0415 822 333.
