Mrs Trabado said the opportunity followed her earlier success at Mrs Australia, where she was runner-up.

“So actually, the Mrs International World before this, I already competed for Mrs Australia, yeah. So, I got the second place for Mrs Australia,” she said.

“It is competition that gives us the opportunity to represent the country in international pageantry.”

Mrs Trabado, who is under Stargazer Productions, said she was approached to represent Australia internationally.

The regional Queensland teacher said representing Australia was unexpected but meaningful.

“It's really a privilege to represent the country,” she said.

“It's not only about me, but it's also about advocacy. So, I'm representing my students.”

Mrs Trabado is a science teacher and an early childhood teacher for senior students at Bentley Park College.

“It's encouraging and it's motivating for them to see me as well,” she said.

Her platform focuses on education and teacher support.

“I'm actually advocating for education. That's because that's my line of work,” she said.

Mrs Trabado said she had previously sent extra school resources to the Philippines and Papua New Guinea to support remote schools lacking materials.

“So that's the main thing, why I'm doing this, so that you know, people will also see the value of teachers.”

She is currently fundraising to cover registration fees, travel expenses, and expenses for the national costume and gown.

Mrs Trabado will arrive in Kuala Lumpur on 20 March, with daily events leading up to the grand final on 27 March.

She said her focus will continue to be on advocacy and representing educators on an international stage in the future.
