Among the major exhibitions is Queensland To A T: Our Stories Told Through Tea Towels, on display until 8 March in the Public Curators Building. Developed by the State Library of Queensland, the exhibition features a collection of tea towels believed to be the only such collection in the world.

Also showing in the Public Curators Building until 8 March is the Cairns Art Society’s 78th Annual Art Exhibition, presenting works from ceramics to watercolours.

Heather Wunjarra Koowootha: Collection in Focus runs until 15 March 2026 in the Public Curators Building. The exhibition features watercolour and pen works by the local Wik Mungkan and Djabuguy/Yidinji artist.

She draws on traditional ecological knowledge of plants and marine life passed down from her mother (Yidinji peoples, Yarrabah) and father (Wik-Mungkan peoples, Aurukun). Heather Wunjarra Koowootha is supported through the Double R Arts Foundation.

Panorama: Collection in Focus, on display until 6 April in the Public Curators Building, features works by Ngadjon-jii, Mamu, Anglo-Celtic artist Danie Mellor and Townsville-based artist Dr Anneke Silver.

In the Mulgrave Building, Zanny Begg: These Stories Will Be Different runs until 2 May 2026, with an artist talk on Saturday 14 March, 11am-12pm.

The Court House Building is hosting the Flying Arts Alliance, Queensland Regional Arts Awards 2025 until 2 May, featuring artists from regional Queensland including Gunggandji artist Philomena Yeatman, Hannah Parker and Lynette Griffiths.
