The event will begin at 12.30pm at Club Mossman and feature five rounds of spider bowls and mini barefoot bowls, with organisers encouraging community members to take part via gold-coin donations.

A courtesy bus will operate from 11am, with limited places available and bookings essential.

Organisers said more than $2700 worth of prizes would be up for grabs, including a PlayStation 5, Nespresso machine, JBL audio equipment, Yeti drink coolers, Mossman Meat House vouchers and tourism experiences.

Mossman Support Services chief executive officer Heather McGillivray-Taylor said the organisation had been supporting the local community since 1991.

“Mossman Support Services is a not-for-profit organisation offering a wide range of community programs and support services,” she said.

“We’re here to empower individuals and strengthen our community by promoting resilience, well-being, and inclusion.”

The organisation provides support, advice and referral services, emergency relief assistance, disability support and youth programs across the Douglas region.

Its services include assistance for sudden hardship, community development programs, respite for carers, daily living support, advocacy services and social connection activities.

Community programs run through the centre include Men’s Shed, She Shed, gardening groups, playgroups and community kitchen sessions aimed at reducing isolation and encouraging wellbeing.

Organisers said funds raised through the outdoor broadcast event would help Mossman Support Services continue delivering programs and support services to the local community.
