It comes as the club heads into its busiest season and is hosting their FunSwimRun event tomorrow.

Club president Greg Meller said Dulux had come on board for the impressive fresh look.

“The revamp comes as the club heads into its celebration of 100 years in operation (2024), while also recently announcing a rebrand, now trading as Cairns Surf Club Palm Cove,” he said.

“As one of the oldest Australian clubs, this centenary milestone provides a platform for the

acknowledgement of volunteer work and will showcase the club to the 400,000 annual visitors who

come from far and wide.

“Beachgoers can look for improvements on the breezeway, front deck, and bistro, which is already a major talking point among locals, as well as a whole new look and feel on the exterior – shifting to the soft muted tones of Dulux Surfmist and Dulux Winter Orange you’ll see now.”

The FunSwimRun event starts tomorrow at 9am, with the club inviting people to join in on the fun and also be one of the first to see the newly refurbished club.

“The club is expecting close to 100 competitors to join the inaugural event, along with many more spectators,” Mr Meller said.

“The day will include a presentation at noon as the race wraps up, along with a barbecue and live music, which is sure to draw in locals and visiting beachgoers,” he said.

Surf Life Saving Australia chief executive Adam Weir highlighted the partnership and the gratitude from the organisation for Dulux’s ongoing and generous support.

“Our strong partnership with Dulux has endured for more than a decade and continues, evidence of the incredible respect we have for each other,” he said.
