Senior coaching course.

It’s back to the classroom for some Rugby League coaches early next year.

The National Rugby League will hold a Senior Coaches Course in Townsville for coaches seeking to take their sport to a competitive level. 

The course has been designed to provide coaches with the skills required to develop players through an athlete centred coaching philosophy. The course is run over 26 hours Face-to-Face and has the following additional requirements: 

Pre Course Assignment Post Course Assignment Practical Assessment Coaches will be awarded a Senior Club Coach ‘In Training’ qualification once they have completed the pre-course assignment and Face-to-Face modules. 

They will then have 12 months to complete the post course assignment and practical assessment. Coaches will need to meet prerequisites to gain entry into this course. Coaches must apply to be a participant in a Senior Club Coaching course. 

Applicants must satisfy all requirements, which include: 

• Holding an International Games Coach (IGC) accreditation or Club Coach (CC) accreditation for a minimum of 12 months. 

• Be coaching a team aged 15 years or older 

• Completing the LeagueSafe course 

The course is free to apply for, however a $300 course fee is applicable to successful candidates. 

The course will be held in Townsville January 15 – 17, 2021.
