Cairns Volleyball wants you!
“THERE’S Volleyball in Cairns?” The penny drops, “You mean beach, right?”
The answer is “No”; it’s not just Beach Volleyball. There is a thriving Indoor 6-a-Side Volleyball movement in Cairns, with opportunities for everyone over 12.
Cairns Volleyball Association (CVA) are looking for new players of all levels to come and be part of one of the best non-contact and competitive sports in the world.
The new season has just kicked off with the A-Grade Women’s and Men’s teams playing on Wednesday nights at 6.30, 7.30 and 8.30pm.
These teams have spent a season or more honing their skills and rotations and are now looking to be dominant over the next seven weeks and take home the medals.
If you want to get a team together for the following and more relaxed, mixed social season starting in October, send an email to the CVA, and they will provide all the details. Girls/ Ladies are encouraged to join.
But this callout is not just for the guns of the sport because even they started somewhere, right? Well, that could be the Thursday night CVA – Learn-toPlay Program hosted by coach John.
It costs $70 (plus annual membership fees) every Thursday from 6.00pm – 8.00pm. These sessions will allow rookies to learn the best foundation skills and game rules to have fun on the court.
With the representative season soon here, CVA is running both Women’s and Men’s elite training afternoons with coaches Rhys and Samara.
