For two Cairns Kangaroo players the season could not have been more successful. Named as the competition’s Under 18 Best & Fairest Player, Makgil Deemal-Neal, playing in the halves of the Kangaroos blitzed the field winning the coveted medal.

This weekend the Kangaroo’s Under 18 team will contest the semi-final against Ivanhoe’s at Barlow Park.

Also, from the Cairns Kangaroos, Under 16 full back Jace Williams won the Best & Fairest medal, along with the distinction of highest try scorer for the competition.

Both players are long serving stalwarts of the Kangaroos, commencing originally with the club in the Under 6s.

This season both players were members of the Cowboys and Northern Pride Development squads as well as representing the Under 18 Cairns and Peninsula team that played earlier this year in Brisbane.

Next year, Jace Williams will take up an offer to attend Palm Beach Currumbin High School, Rugby League Excellence program.
