Along with announcing the new management team, Council announced, pending COVID-19 restriction advice that the pool will re-open Monday July 27.

New managers Grimsey’s Aquatics P/L have been awarded management of the aquatic facility, having successfully managed the Bowen Swimming Pool for the Whitsundays Regional Council.

Grimsey’s Aquatics was chosen by Council’s selection committee due to their ability to service the community by offering a sustainable year-round program and extensive swimming programs.

The business is owned by brothers Trent and Ridge who are highly accredited swim coaches and former Australian Swim team members.  Trent is also a World Record holder for the English Channel.

Council Mayor, Mark Nolan is pleased to welcome Grimsey’s Aquatics to the region.

“Grimsey’s Aquatics put forth a very solid tender based on their success in managing the Bowen Swimming Pool and plans to optimise the facility to its best possible use.”

“They represented the greatest value of the four applicants and the most sustainable business model with maximum utilisation of the facility.”

“Based on their credentials we expect the Cassowary Coast community will greatly benefit from the range of programs which this new management will provide.”

It was also announced the pool will remain open year-round with extensive offerings of new swimming programs.
