Small croc takes early morning dip in resort pool
A HOTEL guest was shocked to discover a 1.2m crocodile lying at the bottom of her five-star Port Douglas resort pool just metres from other guests.

Lisa Keller was staying at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas when she spotted the animal last Saturday.
“I don’t want to alarm anyone but there’s a crocodile in the Sheraton pool,” she said in the video shared to Instagram and TikTok. “Sheraton Mirage. Baby croc.”
Resort general manager Joseph Amerio said just before 7am on Saturday the baby crocodile was “spotted by a member of our team, so of course, the pool was immediately cordoned off and the area fully supervised by the resort team.”
He said at no time were guests and the baby animal in the pool at the same time.
“Queensland Parks and Wildlife arrived at 12.30pm and following a survey of the area retrieved and removed the baby crocodile. This unusual situation was managed with the safety of guests and welfare of the animal,” Mr Amerio said.
