Shiel’s visit provided players, coaches and supporters with the opportunity to learn from one of the game’s experienced midfielders, adding another highlight to an already successful weekend for the club.

The Crocs board and coaching staff praised the visit, saying Shiel’s presence was “monumental” for the club and the wider football community, inspiring players of all ages, while reinforcing the positive culture being built at Port Douglas.

On the field, the women’s side battled hard but was unable to overcome the Cutters, going down 3.6.24 to 0.6.6.

Despite the result, the Crocs showed plenty of determination throughout the contest, with their defence working tirelessly to limit the damage against a well-drilled opposition.

The reserves side produced a strong performance to claim a 8.3.51 to 5.8.38 victory over the Cutters.

Forward Matt Laskey starred in front of goal, finishing with four majors to lead the Crocs’ attack.

The senior side completed the successful weekend with an impressive 12.16.88 to 11.9.75 victory in a hard-fought contest.

The Crocs withstood repeated challenges from the Cutters before pulling away to secure an important win.

Shay Linke was instrumental in the victory, finishing with three goals while providing a strong target inside the forward 50.

The senior side also benefited from a balanced team performance, with contributions across every line helping them withstand the pressure applied by the visitors. The combination of two wins, competitive performances across all grades and the inspirational visit from Dylan Shiel made it a weekend to remember for the Crocs.
