Savour tasty spices of life
Tia’s Cafe dishes up best Thai cuisine at good prices and handy location

TIA’S Cafe brings the flavours of Thailand to the heart of Cairns, with a menu that celebrates its Thai roots and includes selected dishes from Laos and Vietnam.
Thai owner Arisa Kaewwangsan and husband Vincent Tia have lived in Cairns since 2002 and opened their family-run restaurant in April 2013 at 227 Sheridan St, Cairns North.
“If you’re not sure what to order, start with the house favourites,” Ms Kaewwangsan said.
“The Thai beef noodle soup is a must-try, with its deep, aromatic broth, tender slices of beef and silky noodles,” she said.
“For something more substantial, the pork chop with egg and rice is a classic comfort dish, while the diced beef with rice is ideal for anyone who enjoys rich, savoury flavours.
“Seafood lovers shouldn’t miss the salt-pepper squid, lightly battered, crisp and full of flavour.
“To round out your meal, Tia’s Cafe also serves a wide range of fresh fruit smoothies and bubble tea, a refreshing choice in Cairns’ tropical heat and a fun option for kids, families and anyone wanting something sweet to finish.”
The café is conveniently located just off the main highway and close to the city centre, Tia’s Cafe is easy to reach heading home from work, passing through Cairns or looking for a relaxed meal in town.
“Step inside and you’ll find a relaxed, welcoming space – cosy indoor seating and a breezy outdoor area, decorated with traditional Asian artwork,” Ms Kaewwangsan said.
“Whether you’re after a flavourful pad Thai, a fragrant green curry, tender stir-fries or comforting soups, our menu is generous, affordable and familiar enough to please regulars and newcomers alike,” she said.
“Vegetarian or vegan? No problem – the café offers tofu and vegetarian-friendly versions of many dishes, showing care for dietary preferences.”
Open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sundays from 5pm to 9pm, Tia’s Cafe fits neatly into busy days and casual evenings.
