Rhythm and flow surges at The Tanks
A CELEBRATION of rhythm and flow, creative bars and unforgettable beats by talented local MCs will be taking the Tanks Arts Centre by storm with Tanks Tracks showcasing the best of local hip hop next weekend.

The Tanks will be vibrating with local hip hop power when a lineup of established and up and coming local rappers and artists take the stage for a three-hour non-stop party featuring larger than life personalities, their great beats and even better rhymes on Saturday, May 24 from 6pm.
The Tanks Tracks lineup will include local legends like Dizzy Doolan and R.3.B. plus rising artists like Foxy and Diggis bring their ambitious and young sound for a night of great lyricism and excellent music.
Up and coming artist Jessie Neal, 19, artistically known as Foxy, said it was an exciting opportunity to share the stage with such an amazing lineup.
“I’ve only started in music last year, I started journalling and writing poems and I realised I was good at writing poems and I liked to put a beat behind them. That’s how I decided to get into rapping,” Ms Neal said.
“This opportunity means so much, this will give me more experience, being able to perform – especially at a place like the Tanks Arts Centre – and I know a few of the artists so it’s an honour to be on the same stage as Dizzy, it’s going to be a good experience and I’m looking forward to it.”
Member of five-piece hip-hop and reggae fusion group R.3.B. Elijah Raymond said he hoped the community rallied to support all the local artists at Tanks Tracks.
“We’ve been doing hip hop for about 12 years and it’s a good way to keep us out of trouble but also we’re trying to shed a light and create a path for the next generation as well,” he said.
