Revival for Katchafire
NEW ZEALAND reggae group Katchafire (right) will return to Cairns this month as part of its Australian Revival World Tour, performing at Ellis Beach Bar and Grill on 31 October 2026.

The Cairns show is part of a five-week Australian run in October and November, featuring special guest Mike Love. The tour follows Katchafire’s current US dates and an appearance at the Guidance Festival in Bourail, New Caledonia, on 10 October.
The tour coincides with the release of the group’s latest single, ‘Giddy Up (featuring Emily Wurramara)’, a collaboration with ARIA Award-winning Australian First Nations artist Emily Wurramara.
The track was released on 4 September and will feature on Katchafire’s forthcoming ‘Revival 2.0 Guest Edition’ album, due out on 27 November 2026.
“I’m so honoured to be a part of this album for Katchafire,” Emily Wurramara said.
“Their music has been a soundtrack for so many beautiful moments in my life, so to be covering a big song like ‘Giddy Up’ and pay respect to these legends is just so special”, she said.
The ‘Revival 2.0 Guest Edition’ brings together roots and reggae artists from around the world, with further collaborations expected before its November release.
Katchafire’s music blends reggae rhythms with Māori influences, and the band has spent the past twenty-five years releasing music centred on family, unity and cultural pride.
The project revisits Katchafire’s debut album ‘Revival’, originally released in 2003.
