The award-winning singer-songwriter will take to the stage at CPAC tomorrow night (Saturday, August 2), joined by rising local artist Phoebe Jacobs, in a powerful one-night-only performance limited to just 250 seats.

A platinum-selling singer-songwriter known for blending jazz, pop, folk and musical theatre, Ms Washington will perform solo at the piano, bringing raw emotion and authenticity to her set.

The show comes just days before the release of her fifth studio album GEM and will feature her new single ‘Fine’, co-written with Australian music icon Paul Kelly.

For Cairns-based singer-songwriter Phoebe Jacobs, opening for Ms Washington is a career highlight.

“Honestly, I was totally thrilled and a bit surprised to be asked,” she said.

“She is an amazing performer, so it’s a total honour to share the stage with her.”

Ms Jacobs, who moved to Cairns last year, is already making waves locally.

She fronts the newly formed band Driftwood and performs regularly as a solo artist and in a duo.

Her set will feature “delicate, emotive” songs on vocals and guitar.

“I hope to create something intimate and transportive ... I rarely play my songs the same way twice,” she said.

She also admires Ms Washington’s fearless artistry.

“Meg has this incredible ability to be both playful and profound – and her voice is stunning.”

Meg Washington and Phoebe Jacobs will perform at CPAC on Saturday, August 2 at 7.30pm. Tickets are $59
