Rangers make league history beating Magic champions 3-0
MARLIN Coast Rangers made history in the club’s biggest ever game last Saturday by becoming the first ever regional team to beat FQPL 1 champions Magic United and win the FQPL Mitre champions league state final.

Crios O’Hare, Josh Taylor and Fabrice Kouby scored the goals – while Kev Ward made an amazing penalty save – in the famous 3-0 win over NPL-bound Gold Coast side Magic United at a raucous Pennell Field at Trinity Beach.
It is the first time a regional club has defeated an FQ Premier League 1 champion.
Player-coach Crios O’Hare said after losing the grand final the week before, the side had good intent and positivity.
He said Rangers prepared for Magic’s possession and defended well.
Mr O’Hare said going up 2-0 early put the team in a good position but their defence didn’t give Magic many good chances.
He said the win was one they had set a goal for right from the start of the season.
Mr O’Hare said it was “a great achievement” and something the team was “very proud of”.
He said the character of the team led to the final result after the heartbreaking loss to Edge Hill in the FQ Far North grand final.
