Put your dancing shoes on for 60s and 70s music bingo

AN upcoming 60s and 70s music bingo night, on Friday July 3, presented by the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre, is offering the community an opportunity to dust off their dancing shoes and join in a night of music, laughter and fundraising.

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s 80s music bingo event, which attracted a packed hall and had attendees singing and dancing along to their favourite hits, the centre is turning back the clock once again, this time celebrating the unforgettable music of the 1960s and 1970s.

More than just a fun night out, the event plays an important role in supporting the centre’s ongoing efforts to improve and expand its facilities.

Funds raised on the night will contribute towards planned building renovations, helping create a larger, airconditioned space that will allow more community activities, support services and social programs to be delivered throughout the year.

Centre coordinator Belinda Fischer said the event was a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together while supporting a worthwhile cause.

“Our community has always been incredibly generous when it comes to supporting local fundraising events,” she said.

“Every ticket purchased helps us continue to improve the centre and create a welcoming space where people can connect, learn new skills, access support and build friendships.”

Guests can look forward to a fun-filled evening of music bingo featuring classic hits from two of the most iconic decades in music history.

There will also be great prizes, a licensed bar, barbecue, cent sale and prizes for the best dressed 60s and 70s outfits.

“Whether you are old enough to remember these two great decades first time around or simply love the music, everyone is encouraged to embrace the theme and come dressed in their favourite retro attire” Ms Fisher said.

The event will be held at the Port Douglas Community Hall, with doors opening at 6:00pm.

Tickets are available now from the NicNak Shed, Port Douglas and through the link or QR code on our Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre Facebook page.

With last year’s event selling out and creating a fantastic atmosphere, organisers are encouraging people to secure their tickets early.

Adult tickets are $25, Children (5–15 years) $10 and a Family Pass (2 adults and 2 children) $50.
