Pride stalking Bears
IT’S one step forward and two steps back for Northern Pride, despite coming from a massive win against the Jets, the team was overconfident when facing the Brisbane Tigers at home last weekend, losing 18-10.

Although the tide seemed to be turning for the Pride, the team took a stumble last weekend after facing the Brisbane Tigers in the postponed round 1 match. Despite having the crowd’s support, the wet weather and mediocre footy led to a loss against the Tigers, one of the bottom teams in the competition.
Pride now need to regather and focus for their next match against the Burleigh Bears tomorrow at Barlow Park where they hope to regain their confidence.
Coach Russ Aitken said that it had been “a disappointing performance, disappointing result”.

“We hadn’t played like that since weeks one and two, we weren’t prepared to do the hard things in defence, all the little efforts in defence that we’ve been doing and building our game over the last four games,” he said.
“We expected to win but we weren’t prepared to do the hard work to get there.
“We need to go back to the footy that we’d been playing against Ipswich. We had a really good performance and we led that with our defence.”
Mr Aitken said they knew the Burleigh Bears would be a tough opponent, but they were eager to face them at Barlow Park.
