Pride’s remarkable 36-all draw
NORTHERN Pride remain in the mix for the top teams after a dramatic 36-all draw with the South Logan Magpies in Hostplus Cup action.

The Pride were involved in their third draw of the season after the match went down to the final whistle.
Northern Pride coach Sam Williams said the result was frustrating after another late finish.
“Another draw after the siren is more frustrating than anything. We just need to execute the detail in the closing stages, but we are competing really hard, which is pleasing,” he said.
The result leaves the Pride sitting ninth on the ladder with a narrow gap separating the competition’s leading teams.
The Pride return to Barlow Park this Saturday for a double-header featuring some of the region’s emerging rugby league talent.
The curtain raiser will see the Cowboys under-21s take on the Dolphins under-21s at 1pm before the Pride face Western Clydesdale at 3pm.
Northern Pride encouraged fans to arrive early and support the next generation of players before the Hostplus Cup fixture.
Off the field, Mr Williams will appear at the Legends Beef and Beer lunch at Cairns Jockey Club later this month alongside former NRL players Andrew McCullough and Matt Gillett.
The event will feature a live Q&A session with stories from their playing careers.
Northern Pride head of commercial Partnership Raine Porter said the club was pleased to be involved in the event with thse Cairns Jockey Club.
Preparations are also underway for next week’s Northern Pride BMD eason launch, celebrating the club’s women’s program. The club said it was looking forward to officially launching the 2026 BMD squad with partners, supporters and the wider community.
