Pride’s 16-all draw
NORTHERN Pride’ s clash last Saturday against arch rivals Townsville adds another chapter to a tight rivalry with the full time score 16-all.

Hostplus Cup head coach Sam Williams said the ladder position of fourth was encouraging, but the team’s growth was the real focus.
“This time last year we were sitting second last,” he said.
“Every week we’re learning, growing and putting ourselves in pressure situations that will hopefully prepare us for finals football.”
Williams said, while draws could be frustrating, they were valuable for a developing squad.
“We’re learning how to close games out. Our young spine is growing every week and we’re becoming a better football team,” he said.
Despite sitting inside the top four, Williams said the competition remained extremely tight.
“Fourth looks good, but there’s not much between fourth and ninth. We’ve got to keep improving every week.”
Pride take on third-placed Ipswich Jets at Barlow Park on Saturday 4 July at 3pm.
BMD premiership head coach Colin Wilkie praised his side’s response following last week’s performance, winning 22- against WM Seagulls.
