Pride in shock loss to Mackay Cutters
WITH a 14-0 lead up front for the BMD Premiership team in Mackay last weekend, it was a strong start against the Cutters but after half time, the game went south.

With the final score 38-14, head coach Colin Willkie believed that while a disappointing result, the team still had plenty of upside and room for improvement as the women head towards the back end of the season.
After this loss, BMD Pride are currently seventh on the ladder and will need to win the next two to three games to secure a home semifinal.
Hostplus Cup Pride enjoyed a bye last weekend, but will join the women’s team on the road to Tweed Heads to take on the Seagulls with BMD kick -off at 1pm on Sunday, and the HPC Pride kick off at 3pm, at the Seagulls sporting complex.
“The HPC boys are looking to finish the year with a strong performance, while the BMD ladies are determined to keep their finals hopes alive,” Pride chief executive officer Garreth Smith said.
“Looking ahead, we return to Barlow Park on Saturday 30 August for our final HPC home game of the season against the PNG Hunters, while our BMD side will also face the Central QLD Capras, in what promises to be a massive afternoon of football for our Pride teams.”
