Mr Aitken, who stepped into the role with big ambitions for the team, officially finished this week.

In a statement, Pride CEO Garreth Smith thanked Mr Aitken for his contribution.

“We thank Russ for his time with the club and wish him the very best for the future,” Mr Smith said.

The Pride will now begin the search for a new head coach.

While it’s the end of one chapter, the club has also shared some good news for fans.

Fullback Ben Rumble has re-signed for the 2026 season.

Mr Rumble joined the squad midway through this year from the St George Illawarra Dragons NSW Cup side and quickly made the number one jersey his own.

Supporters can expect to see plenty more of him lighting up Barlow Park in Pride colours next year.

BMD ladies’ last home game of the regular season is on Sunday against Souths Logan Magpies at home.

Kick-off is at 2pm at Barlow Park.

Last weekend they beat the Central Queensland Capras 44-14, while the men’s side lost against the PNG Hunters 40-10.
