CYCLONE Theatre Company’s inaugural regional tour of the multi-award-winning solo comedy ‘Let There Be Thistles’ will head north for its final three performances, featuring shows in South Johnstone, Babinda and Trinity Beach from 15–17 October.

Written and performed by CTC artistic director Joshua Thomas, Let There Be Thistles is an absurdist one-person comedy that explores belief, power and free will through the existential crisis of a God who discovers that no one believes in him anymore.
The production arrives in FNQ with international recognition after receiving a Hollywood Fringe Producers’ Encore Award, while Mr Thomas was named best solo show (male) at The TVolution’s Hollywood Fringe Awards.
Cyclone Theatre Company was founded this year by actor Joshua Thomas, actor Tereza Sklenar and local playwright, educator and producer Don Sanderson to bring live theatre directly to regional communities.
“The whole point of Cyclone Theatre Company is to take the theatre to the audience,” Mr Sanderson said.
“A community hall can become a theatre for a night. We bring in the set, lighting and sound, perform the show, pack it all away and move on to the next town,” he said.
Ms Sklenar, an actor and founding member of the company, is also part of the touring team, contributing to backstage and technical operations of the production.
The final performances will be held at South Johnstone on Thursday 15 October, at Babinda on Friday 16 October and at Trinity Beach on Saturday 17 October.
