Pippa’s a true Aussie

A QUEENSLAND distance education student, Pippa Plant, has been named the 2025 Queensland junior ambassador at The Fred Hollows Humanity Awards, recognising her compassion and commitment to helping others in her community.

Communications director Alison Hill said Pippa represented the best qualities of young Australians.

“Pippa is a fantastic example of what young people can achieve when they set their mind to it and when they think about other people and put other people first,” she said.

Ms Hill said Pippa stood out for her kindness and empathy in an era where young people often face online bullying and social challenges.

Pippa said she was “very grateful” to be named Queensland junior ambassador.

“It’s very exciting for someone like me from the bush to receive such an amazing award,” she said. “It’s special that the little things that I’ve done, like donating my hair, running and raising money, have been recognised”.
