Pink is Benjamin’s theme
A CAIRNS man known for his bright pink moustache and matching outfits is encouraging locals to support breast cancer awareness during the Go Pink campaign in June.

Benjamin Anderson said the campaign started on 1 June and runs for the entire month. It encourages people to wear pink, colour their hair pink or shave their heads to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer support.
Mr Anderson said his own “pink” journey began about eight or nine years ago while taking part in Movember.
“I have been with Movember for 17 years now (I was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023),” he said.
“So for the last week of Movember, I will paint my mo pink, which was to thank all the Mo Sistas who have supported me over the years (and there have been many) and, more importantly, to raise awareness and support those suffering from breast cancer.”
Mr Anderson said what started as a personal gesture had grown into a larger campaign and community conversation.
“My journey started from something I used to do as a personal thanks and has evolved to what it is now,” he said.
The Cairns local has embraced the theme with a pink suit, pink jackets, pink shoes and his well-known pink hair and moustache. Even the licence plate on his car reads “PINKMO”.
“I get plenty of very positive comments about how I look with all of them,” he said.
“I am just one guy with pink hair and a pink moustache, making a difference, not only in my own life, but in someone else’s as well.”
The Go Pink campaign raises money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and encourages people across Australia to take part in fundraising activities throughout June.
