A LOCAL CAIRNS business has continued its annual Christmas tradition, generously delivering seven pamper hampers to COUCH Cancer Hub NQ to support clients undergoing cancer treatment.

The Aesthetic Lounge team visited the COUCH Wellness Centre on Sheridan Street on Wednesday 17 December 2025, presenting the hampers as a gesture of care and community support during the festive season.

The hampers, each valued at $700, were received by COUCH Cancer Hub NQ Executive Officer Emily Rossi. Ms Rossi confirmed the gifts would be shared among clients drawn at last week’s Christmas party raffle.

Continuing an annual Christmas-time tradition, registered nurse Katy Hirst and her team said the initiative was focused on lifting spirits and easing the load for people navigating cancer treatment during what can be a challenging time of year.

Ms Rossi said the timing and thought behind the gift meant a great deal to COUCH clients, particularly following a significant year for the not-for-profit organisation.

“It’s been a huge year for COUCH, with so many clients coming through our doors,” Ms Rossi said.

“Christmas is different for everyone — especially for those on a cancer journey — and these beautiful gifts offer comfort, grounding and a sense of care at a time when it really matters.”

Ms Rossi said the hampers reflected the understanding and compassion of The Aesthetic Lounge team, noting the products had been thoughtfully selected by Ms Hirst and her colleagues, drawing on their nursing and patient-care experience.

She also acknowledged the wider community support COUCH has received throughout 2025, describing the year as a period of transformation for the organisation.

“The generosity we’ve seen from the community has been overwhelming,” she said.

“People have answered the call, come forward and donated in so many ways — and that support has made a real difference for our clients.”

Ms Hirst said the Christmas initiative was about giving back in a meaningful way to people who needed support most.

“We genuinely love what COUCH does — their holistic approach to care is incredible,” Ms Hirst said.
