Congratulations on your new newspaper. I am really pleased you have chosen to evolve your great on-line news editions into hard copy. This shows great faith in the future of Cairns and I thank you for this vote of confidence.
I am sure Cairns Local News will be a valuable player in the media environment and one I will always be happy to support
Michael Healy MP.
From one local company to another, a big congratulations to Peter and the Team at Cairns Local News on getting off the ground!
Now more than ever before, Cairns needs to support local business to get through these hard times and this paper is an inspiration to others to keep supporting each other and keeping the circular economy going, now and into the future.
Looking forward to reading the paper.
Andrew – Cardzilla
Congratulations on the first edition of Cairns Local News. Tourism Tropical North Queensland looks forward to seeing local coverage of the issues that matter to the Cairns regional community where one in five jobs depend on tourism.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland CEO Mark Olsen
Congratulations! Trinity Printers, a local business who actually invests in staff and prints locally, expects that Cairns Local News, as an independent publication, will go a long way to help support the local economy.
A certain way to build the region is for business to support those around them by ensuring where practical that money is circulated within that area – a circular economy.
We look forward to your news and wish you every success.
Steve Trinity Printer
Congratulations Peter and all the crew at Cairns Local News on the publication of your first hard-copy edition.
With the closure of so many newspapers across regional queensland recently, we are fortunate here in FNQ to have an independent paper focusing on issues relevant to our local communities.

It’s never easy to start a new business, but in the current climate, it takes a lot of determination and belief. It is with this in mind that I wish to congratulate Cairns Local News on its first edition.
Having a strong media sector is good news for the whole community and a free weekly independent newspaper and online news platform in the mix will provide additional avenues to keep our community informed.
In opening this new small business, which will employ seven people, the owners have showed great confidence in our city to overcome the current crisis, as I do, and I hope their endeavours deliver them long-term success.
Again, I congratulate Cairns Local News on this new initiative and wish them every success.
Councillor Bob Manning
Local news matters!
Regional newspapers are under pressure and Queensland has been hardest hit. Local news connects communities, tells people what they need to know, covers any matter or number of events from school sport to milestone anniversaries.
It also keeps organisations and civic leaders accountable. In other words, it plays a vital role. The arrival of Cairns Local News is a great boost for this city and region - and I extend a big congratulations to Peter and his team for launching their first hardcopy edition - now, that is indeed, great news!

As a local so called character, I’m happily howling at the moon at the first edition of Cairn Local News. Let’s support this fantastic local initiative to bring back to Cairns a free newspaper. Happy as a pig in slop,
Wayne Marshall.
As State Member for Hill I would like to congratulate Cairns Local News for opening their doors in these trying times and printing their first edition.
Newspapers play a vital role in the community in reporting social, community and sports events, political issues and promote the needs for our region.
For the Hill Electorate, this has helped highlight the impacts on our dairy and farming industries, the need for water infrastructure, road upgrades and improved health services.
These are all excellent examples where community voices, highlighted in local newspapers, are instrumental in getting the message across to help get government action.
Once again, I would like to congratulate Cairns Local News on their first publication, and I wish them every success.

Member for Hill
Congratulations on your exciting initiative to establish an independent newspaper in our region at a time when local news outlets around Australia have been rationalised so severely.
As a sporting club on the Northern Beaches, Hekili Outrigger Canoe Club is proud to be connected to our community and environment.
Our club has already benefited from your commitment to positive local coverage and look forward to letting more of your readers know about the benefits of participating in a sport that caters for all ages, abilities and fitness levels and makes the most of our beautiful, tropical backyard.
Good luck with printing your 1st hard copy edition – and may it be the first of many more to come.
