One-off reggae show with Rize
ELLIS Beach Reggae Roots is hosting a special one-off Thursday edition, welcoming Nattali Rize and her full band to Far North Queensland on 5 March.

The event at Ellis Beach Bar and Grill starts at 6pm. Organisers say the show is a rare opportunity, with the reggae series usually held on Saturdays.
Kicking off the night is Icaro, a group hailing from Colombia and now based in Cairns. The band blends Amazonian influences with roots reggae and has performed at festivals across the region this year. They return to Ellis Beach as Reggae Roots favourites to open the evening.
The headline act, Nattali Rize, will perform with her full band in what organisers describe as the first full-band live performance in Australia in years.
Ms Rize said the band was entering a new chapter with a new album and remained committed to its purpose as musicians, using sound and words to uplift people and connect communities across borders and oceans.
“We are in a time where live music is a healer with the ability to unify us in the moment, sending ripples of positivity into our collective reality,” she said.
“The album is called ‘Liberate’ and it’s liberation time. Come free up your body and mind on the dance floor with us,” she said
Her song ‘One People’ has received more than nine million views on YouTube. Ms Rize and her band continue to perform at international festivals worldwide.
Promotional material for the event includes endorsements from Top Shelf Music, Michael Franti (Spearhead), Deb Kloeden, Rolling Stone and NPR.
