New rulers of the Knob
Winter is coming, and in a thrilling end to this year’s Game of Knobs, locals Adrian Grover and Kirsty McCartney have taken the Yorkeys Knob throne.
They were joyously crowned King and Queen of the Knob at the 15th annual ‘Festival of the Knob’ on Satruday June 12, a wonderful free community event which was enjoyed by more than 1000 people.
The pair were nominated by local residents and selected by a panel of judges for their contributions to the Yorkeys Knob community.
Event organiser David Stephens said Mr Grover was very deserving of the honour, for his involvement with the Residents Association and community work, as was Ms McCartney who runs the Yorkeys Post Office.
Local café and bar ‘Hidden @ Yorkeys’ won Business of the Year by popular consensus.
Mr Stephens said after a year off due to COVID-19 it was great to finally be able to celebrate the Knob again with a great day of live entertainment, market stalls and rides.
