The event puts a modern twist on traditional bingo, replacing numbers and quiet calls with music, singalong tracks and a dancefloor-style atmosphere.

Hosted by local DJ Skippy, also known as Todd Skipper, who is well known on the Cairns music bingo circuit, the night is being promoted as a more interactive and energetic experience than standard bingo formats.

Dubbed “Music bingo on steroids”, the event will feature music-driven gameplay alongside spontaneous activities including dance-offs, air guitar challenges and audience participation segments designed to keep the energy high throughout the night.

Mr Skipper (right) said he was confident the event would stand out locally.

“I’m pretty excited for what will be Cairns’ biggest music bingo event, actually,” he said.

“So that’s the main thing I’d want to get across, but this is aiming to be the biggest and best and very much looking forward to it.”

Organisers say the event will follow a tropical theme, ‘Tropic Like It’s Hot’, encouraging attendees to dress up, with prizes on offer.

Ticket sales will contribute to a cash prize pool, meaning total winnings will depend on the number of participants.

Tickets are priced at $10 per person and include a drink on arrival. Bookings can be made online, with attendees encouraged to secure spots early.

The event is being promoted as suitable for a range of social occasions including group outings, work gatherings, birthdays and casual nights out.

Doors will open at 6.30pm, with the event starting at 7pm at Cazalys Cairns. The launch of Mega Music Bingo adds to the venue’s entertainment lineup and reflects ongoing efforts to provide new social experiences for the local community.
