Much to talk about at Global forum
CAIRNS will host one of the world’s leading forums for professional speakers from today, with the Global Speakers Summit 2026 bringing about 400 atendees from 27 countries to the Cairns Convention Centre until 16 March.

The four-day program includes learning sessions, networking events and celebrations centred around public speaking.
Hosted by Professional Speakers Australia, the Summit is designed as an event for speakers, by speakers, focused on business building, professional development and the future of the speaking profession.
The Global Speakers Summit is part of the Global Speakers Federation, a worldwide network of 17 member associations, including 16 country-based associations and one virtual association.
Australia was among the founding members of the Federation but has never hosted the Summit until now.
The 2026 Summit will feature around 80 speakers across multiple sessions, along with an official opening, networking events and a Gala Awards Dinner celebrating excellence across both Professional Speakers Australia and the Global Speakers Federation.
The event is chaired by Lindsay Adams OAM CSP, a professional speaker with 26 years' experience. Mr Adams was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2020 for services to the professional speaking industry.
“This event will be life-changing for speakers new to the business, just as my first convention was in 2000 in Canberra,” he said.
The summit was also benefiting Cairns.
“We are investing in the local community hosting this event, we have sourced suppliers from the local region for printing, catering, souvenir T-shirts and freight, and will purchase and then donate convention chairs to a local housing charity,” Mr Adams said.
