Moon rises over Machans
MOON over Machans takes over Keith Edwick Park at Machans Beach on Saturday, September 13, with an array of stalls, great food, kids’ activities and music.

Coordinator Mark Herridge said the day comprised of a variety of market stalls, including great food and information stalls.
“We have workshops, such as Woyaya Acapella Choir where the park comes alive with the sound of many voices under the guidance of choir mistress Jane Younghusband,” he said.
“We also have yoga, ju jitsu for kids and the Taiko drummers, who delight us all, especially the kids who are let loose on improvised drums in a brief workshop after their performance.
“There are also kids' novelty races and a kids talent quest with prizes.
“At 6pm, as the sun sets, the market winds down and the bar opens, the sounds of our first band, Broke ‘N Busy, a local and lively four-piece rock outfit will start the live entertainment, followed by a performance of Capoeira Angola, an Afro Brazilian martial art blended with live music.
“The evening finishes with our headline act, 8 Ball Aitken, a Mareeba-raised muso, who is now based on the Sunshine Coast.
“8 Ball Aitken's swamp/rock will have the place jumping and we're lucky to have him.”
