Moon is rising
MOON over Machans is on again this Saturday 12 September in Keith Edwick Park, Machans Beach.
Starting at 2pm, there will be live music from the Hot Shots Big Band, plus an array of market stalls, including food, merchandise and information and displays.
Joining will be acapella singing and acrobatic yoga workshops, kid’s novelty races and kids talent quest, with prizes.
On the schedule are the pipes and drums from the NQ Anarchic Collective.
Organiser Mark Herridge said everything was coming together well for the annual event.
“From 6pm the bar opens and we’ll have dynamic local three-piece Monkey Paws strutting their stuff followed by the gorgeous Latin Roots dancers,” he said.
“Our main act is Mareeba-born and internationally-acclaimed blues man, 8Ball Aitken, who will take us through to stumps at 9pm, which is a good finishing time for our family-friendly event,” he said.
