Mock combat to draw crowds to leagues club
WRESTLING fans will have the chance to see international stars in action as Pro Wrestling Power (PWP) gears up for two major events on 5 and 6 December.

Danny Reynolds, owner of PWP, said the promotion had been operating for nearly nine years and was finally gaining recognition after challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We were going pretty well and then COVID shut this down, as it shut everything down.” Mr Reynolds took over ownership after the previous owner sold the business.
The upcoming shows at Brothers Leagues Club will feature Brian Kendrick, an internationally-recognised wrestler who has competed against stars such as John Cena and Brock Lesnar.
Mr Reynolds described Mr Kendrick as “the biggest point of it, because he was the 43rd best wrestler in the world at one stage.”
PWP has previously held successful shows at Palm Cove and Port Douglas and plans are underway for future events at Hemingway’s Brewery at Cairns Wharf.
The shows are designed to be PG-rated, family-friendly events “because not everyone drinks these days,” Mr Reynolds said.
“So many big venues are trying to find a new way to get families in the door. And my wrestling show, you know, it’s a PG show. So, it’s all ages,” he said.
Mr Reynolds said that wrestling’s popularity was growing across Australia, with PWP now one of 10 active wrestling companies in Queensland, with Cairns in the spotlight for future growth.
