Missy Higgins on stage
AUSTRALIAN singer-songwriter Missy Higgins will head to Mareeba this October as part of the third and final artist announcement for Savannah in the Round 2026.

The multi-ARIA Award-winning artist joins a four-day line-up featuring international and Australian artists, including Icehouse, Don McLean, Tyler Braden, Lee Kernaghan, Ian Moss and Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers, San Cisco, Busby Marou and Kingswood. Furnace and the Fundamentals, along with rising country talent Bella Mackenzie, have also been added to the program.
Ms Higgins has been part of the Australian music landscape for more than two decades, with songs including ‘Scar’, ‘The Special Two’, ‘Steer’, ‘Futon Couch’ and ‘A Complicated Truth’.
Her debut album, ‘The Sound of White’, was released in 2004, reaching number one and achieving multi-platinum status.
Environment and Tourism Minister Andrew Powell said the event was expected to generate nearly 62,000 direct visitor nights and inject $12.7 million into the Queensland economy.
“Securing internationally recognised artists like Missy Higgins gives music fans another reason to visit the region, with thousands expected to travel to Mareeba and experience everything the Tropical North has to offer.
“Events of this scale do more than deliver great entertainment, they support local jobs, drive visitor spending and provide a valuable boost to businesses across the region.”
More than 60 artists are set to perform across the four-day program.
Sound Australia managing director James Dein said Ms Higgins was an important addition to the line-up.
“Having Missy join us in Mareeba adds another layer to an already strong program,” he said. “She is one of Australia’s most celebrated musicians and we are really excited to add her to the program.”
Savannah in the Round returns to the Mareeba Rodeo Arena from 8-11 October 2026, featuring live music, camping, food and entertainment.
