Memoir writing workshop
AWARD-WINNING Queensland author and editor Edwina Shaw will share the craft of memoir writing in two workshops in Kuranda and Cairns later this month, encouraging people to turn their personal experiences into stories worth preserving.

Hosted by Arts Nexus, the ‘Writing your Life’ workshops will be held at the Kuranda Neighbourhood Centre on Friday 19 June, from 9.30am to 12.30pm and at the Stratford Library meeting room on Saturday 20 June, from 1pm to 4pm.
Ms Shaw said the workshops were designed for people who had stories they had always wanted to tell but had never found a way to begin telling them.
“The writing your life workshop is a workshop that I’ve run for many years and it helps people who have those stories running around in their head, thinking that they’re always, ‘Oh, one day I’ll write that story’,” she said. “Giving them the skills and the writing craft knowledge that they need to get those ideas out of their head and onto the page.”
Pre-bookings through Humanitix, with Arts Nexus hosting the events for aspiring memoir writers.
