Mazda drops four-cylinder engine into CX-60 mixture
MAZDA is introducing a cheaper version of its CX-60 SUV with a four-cylinder engine.

Up until now the CX-60 has only come with 3.0-litre six cylinder petrol and diesel versions but it now comes with the 2.5L Skyactiv-G powertrain.
Buyers can save $6000 by opting for the launch edition of the CX-60 G25 Pure model, with a driveaway price of only $47,990. The six cylinder starts from $53,990.
The entry-grade G25 Pure has a starting manufacturer list price of $44,240 (plus on-roads) rising to $49,240 and $52,240 for the Evolve and Touring models.
Delivering 138kW of power and 250Nm of torque to the rear wheels courtesy of the recently refined Skyactiv-Drive eight-speed automatic transmission, the CX-60 G25 is said to deliver fuel economy as low as 7.5L/100km combined.

Model grades are unchanged when compared to the six-cylinder CX-60 counterparts, which offer a host of technology, safety and performance as standard.
The CX-60 colour palette remains plentiful with eight colours for customers to choose from. These include three of Mazda’s high-quality Takuminuri paint finishes: Rhodium White Metallic, Soul Red Crystal Metallic and Machine Grey Metallic. Alternatively, Deep Crystal Blue Mica, Jet Black Mica, Platinum Quartz Metallic, Sonic Silver Metallic, and Zircon Sand Metallic round out the paint palette.
Introduced as a result of customer demand, Mazda Australia is anticipating that the value-focused G25 powertrain will contribute to about one third of CX-60 sales annually.
Mazda Australia managing director Vinesh Bhindi said the company had always prioritised providing unrivalled value and choice for our consumers. The addition of the G25 to the CX-60 range was no exception.

“A proven powerplant, elegant ‘kodo’ design and a suite of standard inclusions at an extremely compelling price point fully enhance consumer accessibility,” he said.
The CX-60 G25 is now on sale at Mazda dealerships across Australia, with first customer deliveries taking place from next month.
Mazda CX-60 G25 Pure equipment is comprehensive, including 10.25-inch full colour widescreen display (Mazda Connect), 18in grey metallic alloy wheels, 360° view monitor and eight-speaker audio with DAB+, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wireless and USB), auto-dimming rear-view mirror, black cloth seat trim with eight-way manual driver’s seat adjustment, Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) with Vehicle Exit Warning and dual-zone climate control with rear vents.
