Long lunch for Legacy building

FNQ Legacy will bring its annual Legacy Week celebrations into the 2026 Cairns Festival program with a long lunch raising funds for veteran families across Far North Queensland.

The long lunch will be held on Friday 4 September from 12.30pm to 4pm at Paper Crane Restaurant, Crystalbrook Riley, overlooking the Cairns Esplanade.

Legacy Week, running from 30 August to 5 September, is an annual opportunity to recognise the service and sacrifice of veterans and to support their families.

Tickets cost $175 per person and include a welcome drink, six modern Asian-inspired dishes featuring tropical fruits, seasonal FNQ produce and premium local ingredients, a three-hour beverage package and live entertainment.

FNQ Legacy president Alfie Santos said the funds raised would support the organisation’s work with veteran families and the Legacy House build.

“The money raised will support FNQ Legacy’s work with veteran families in the Far North, including the FNQ Legacy House build,” he said.

“That is a purpose-built home at Smithfield for the more than 300 veteran families and growing, who we care for in this region ...”
