Touring from Western Australia, LandSlide is dedicated to recreating Fleetwood Mac’s live performances, and the Cairns concert also features a support set of Eagles’ greatest hits.

One of the band’s three lead vocalists, Karen (surname withheld), who portrays Stevie Nicks on stage, said the show aimed to capture more than the original artists’ sound.

“LandSlide is about going beyond simply recreating those songs note for note. It’s about capturing the spirit, emotion and magic that made their music timeless in the first place,” she said.

Karen said her approach to performing songs made famous by Stevie Nicks involved understanding the emotion and stories behind the music.

“The key for me is to honour what made her iconic – from the stage wear to the vocal delivery.”

The band also features two other lead vocalists alongside bass and lead guitarists, a keyboard player and drummer.

Karen said the enduring popularity of Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles reflected the themes and musicianship behind their songs.

“Songs about heartbreak, freedom, conflict and resilience, themes which never go out of style,” she said.

“We have followers under 10 and over 80. Great music spans generations, and classic rock has definitely made a comeback over the past few decades.”

LandSlide has toured the show across Australia, with Karen recalling audiences singing along and a couple travelling from Alice Springs to Darwin to see the band perform.

The Cazaly’s show will feature a 45-minute support set of Eagles’ greatest hits, followed by a double set, lasting an hour and 45 minutes of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks’ hits.

LandSlide will perform at Cazaly’s Cairns on 29 August, following a Mackay performance on 28 August.
