A Canberra couple have had a holiday they’ll never forget, picking up a division one winning lottery ticket on their travels throughout Far North Queensland.
The pair held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4105, drawn Saturday 21 November 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $549,405.38.
Confirming the news with an official from The Lott this morning, the couple admitted they were still in shock 24 hours after making the exciting discovery.
“Thank you,” the winning woman gushed. “We’re thrilled!
“We checked the ticket yesterday. My husband was making a cup of tea and I thought I’d better check it.
“I was sitting on the bed; thank goodness because it popped up on my screen that we’d won division one!
“I was yelling expletive after expletive after expletive.
“We thought there was no way it was right! My husband double-checked it on his phone as well. “We still can’t believe it. What a holiday!”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their division one fortune, the pair said an early retirement was on the cards.
“It’s going to make our lives so much easier,” they explained.
“We will pay off the mortgage and give some to our children to help them get ahead. “We both still work a little bit, but maybe we can retire now!”
The life-changing ticket was purchased at Mt Sheridan Newspower, based in the Mount Sheridan Plaza.
Mt Sheridan Newspower co-owner Tash Grace said the outlet was celebrating the exciting news. “What a great win just before Christmas and it is so exciting for us as new owners!” she exclaimed. “We’ve been telling everyone that we’ve sold a division one winning entry and our customers are so happy for us.
“We wish our winners all the very best with their prize and hope it brings fantastic changes to their lives!”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4105 on 21 November 2020 were 2, 37, 39, 21, 42 and 27, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 11.
Across Australia, there were 11 division one entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4105 – three each from Queensland and Victoria, two each from New South Wales and Western Australia, and one each from South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 170 so far this financial year, including 41 won by Golden Casket customers.
Last financial year, Saturday Gold Lotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 318 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $346.12 million.
