Teenager to face multiple property related charges

Officers from the Property Crime Squad charged a 16-year-old Manoora boy yesterday following investigations into burglaries and other property related offences allegedly committed in Mount Sheridan, Manunda and Mooroobool between September 15 and 18.

It is alleged that the teenager was involved in the theft of cars from Benjamina Street and Haywood Street on September 15 and 17. The boy was also allegedly involved in the theft of petrol, wallets, car keys and clothing.

The teenager was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of attempting to enter a premises and one count each of stealing, burglary, attempted burglary and entering a premises.

He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court.

Police have previously charged a number of other youths over their involvement in the above-mentioned offences.
