UPDATED Monday 2am

Due to an unexpected delay in the forecast coastal crossing of Tropical Cyclone Kimi, the Daintree Ferry will resume normal operations on Monday morning at 5AM.

Douglas Shire Council and the ferry contractors will provide a further update on the status of the ferry service mid-morning tomorrow, unless there is a significant development overnight.

Please stay connected at the Douglas Dashboard, and follow the Douglas Disaster Information Facebook page for severe weather updates.

Council would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding.

Due to possible impacts of Tropical Cyclone Kimi, the Daintree Ferry will then stop operating and re-open as soon as it’s safe to do so.

A further update will be provided once the contractors are able to re-assess conditions tomorrow morning (Monday 18 January 2021).

Please stay connected at the Douglas Dashboard, and follow the Douglas Disaster Information Facebook page for updates.
