Kylie show starts huge year
THE Reef Hotel Casino will celebrate 30 years this year with a year-long program of entertainment, promotions and special events, marking three decades since the complex opened on 31 January 1996.
The anniversary celebrations will launch at the end of January with the return of one of the casino’s most successful live shows – ‘100% Kylie – the World’s No. 1 Kylie Show’.
The show will run live and free on the BAR36 stage on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 January, with performances starting at 9pm on both nights.
Marketing and entertainment Manager Bruce Stewart said the opening events would set the tone for the year ahead.
“We are starting the year with glitz, glamour, diamonds and ‘Pearls’, a nod to the 30s and the 90s and really have the fun with entwining various themes, events, promotions and entertainment throughout 2026,” Mr Stewart said.
“100% Kylie is the perfect show to launch the year with a stylish bang.”
100% Kylie stars world-renowned impersonator Lucy Holmes, who has performed more than 1000 concerts in 18 countries over 20 years. The show has been endorsed by Kylie Minogue herself as the ‘Best Kylie act in the world’, with Dannii Minogue also praising the production.
“She’s fantastic, she’s a great ambassador for my show,” Kylie Minogue said.
“The Minogues’ favourite Kylie tribute show,” Dannii Minogue said.
The production is described as an immersive experience featuring replica costumes, dancers, a live band, multimedia and crowd interaction, with songs including ‘Step Back in Time’, ‘Spinning Around’, ‘On A Night Like This’, ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ and ‘The Locomotion’.
On Saturday, celebrations will begin earlier with complex-wide activities, food and beverage specials and casino promotions throughout the day. A live local legend line-up will lead into the evening entertainment from 5pm in BAR36.
The casino has also invited Cairns locals to take part in celebrations throughout the year.
“So, the casino is asking Cairns to glam up and join the party all year as they celebrate 30 years,” Mr Stewart said. “We’ll be bringing back our most popular shows and promotions and some new ones each month in 2026.”
