Ivanhoes, Roosters and Innisfail impressive
ROUND nine of the Cairns Rugby League competition delivered a mix of commanding performances and nail-biting finishes across all grades, keeping fans entertained from start to finish.

In the women’s competition, Innisfail edged Southern Suburbs 14-8 in a tightly contested clash, showing resilience in defence to hold off late surges.
Ivanhoe’s continued their impressive run, overwhelming Yarrabah 46-14 with clinical attack and relentless pressure. Atherton also secured a convincing 36-18 victory over Mossman, demonstrating their depth and strong forward play.
The reserves grade saw a thrilling draw between Innisfail and Southern Suburbs, finishing 30-30 in a back-and-forth contest that had supporters on edge.
Yarrabah narrowly fell to Ivanhoes 30-28 in a match defined by quick tries and last-minute heroics.
Cairns Brothers returned to form with a 26-12 win over Tully, while the Kangaroos recorded a solid 44-22 victory against Mareeba.
Atherton mirrored their senior side’s dominance, defeating Mossman 44-22 to remain a force in the competition.
In the seniors, Innisfail asserted their dominance with a 40-10 win over Southern Suburbs, highlighting their attacking flair and defensive discipline (pictured above).

Cairns Brothers maintained momentum with a 30-12 victory over Tully, while Mareeba triumphed 34-20 against the Kangaroos in a high-intensity clash.
