Invitation to tour navy ship
THE community is being invited to go onboard an Australian naval vessel on Sunday.
HMAS Adelaide (III)
HMAS Adelaide (III) will be visiting Cairns for four days from today (Friday, August 29).
Residents can tour the ship, meet the crew and gain insight into one of the most capable and sophisticated air-land-sea amphibious deployment systems in the world. The landing helicopter dock (LHD) ship is one of the largest constructed for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and can carry Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters. The ship (right) is due to arrive about 10.30am today at the Cairns Cruise Ship Terminal, Trinity Wharf. The open day is from 10am-4pm on Sunday.
